Overview Hatch Point Campground is located 56 miles southwest of Moab. The campground is situated on a mesa top which offers fine views of the surrounding area. The remote and quiet location guarantees excellent star-gazing opportunities. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.There are 10 individual campsites, limited to 10 people & two vehicles per site. Recreation Situated in the middle of the stunning Canyon Rims Recreation Area, Hatch Point Campground has access to miles of 4x4 trails, scenic overlooks, and the Trough Springs Trailhead, where you can hike into the Kane Creek drainage. Most overlooks are accessible by passenger vehicles, Canyonlands Overlook requires 4-wheel drive. Being one of the most remote campgrounds in the Moab Field Office, Hatch Point is a place where you can enjoy solitude and quiet, take in the views, and gaze at the incredible night sky.Facilities Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, and all share a single vault toilet. There is no group site at this facility. Nearby Attractions Hatch Point Campground is on the way to the stunning Anticline Overlook, with views of Hurrah Pass, Kane Creek, and the Colorado River. Other viewpoints include Minor Overlook, and Needles Overlook to the south, overlooking Lockhart Basin and the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park.Charges & Cancellations Please contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance with changes and cancellations at 435-259-2100. Changes You can make changes to a reservation through your online Recreation.gov user account any time prior to the arrival/first date of the reservation. There is a $10 change fee If you wish to change to dates entirely outside of the original reservation dates. There is no change fee if you wish to extend or shorten the original reservation as long as the first day of your reservation stays the same. You cannot make changes to your reservation after the arrival/first day through your Recreation.gov account. However, the BLM Moab Field Office may be able to assist you, 435-259-2100. For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for four days. Cancellations Please cancel your reservation if you do not plan to use it. This opens highly sought campsites for others to reserve. You can cancel your reservation online through your Recreation.gov user account or through the call center (call center incurs an additional fee). You may also contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation. Late Cancellations A late cancellation occurs less the 14 days before the arrival/first date of the reservation (a.k.a. cut-off window). A $10.00 cancellation fee AND forfeit the first night's fees if cancelled less than 14 days before the arrival date (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). There are no refunds, modifications, cancellations, or other fee changes allowed with Scan & Pay payments. Early Departures If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office (435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use. You will not be able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account. If customers request an early departure after the facility check-out time, the customer will not receive a refund for that night. No-Shows A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Campgrounds are inconsistently staffed by volunteers and there is no guarantee that your site will be available on the second day. Refunds You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7 days of the departure/end date of your reservation. Applicable fees, such as the Recreation.gov reservation fees, service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-refundable. Refunds cannot be issued to any card other than the one used to pay. In the event of an emergency closure, all fees will be refunded. Attempts will be made to notify you using the contact information within your Recreation.gov customer profile. Interagency Pass Discounts Interagency Pass discounts do not apply to group campsite reservations.

Getting There

To reach the campground drive 32 miles south of Moab on Highway 191 to the Canyon Rims Recreation Area turnoff. Follow this road for approximately 15 miles before turning right onto the graveled road towards Anticline Overlook. Continue along the graveled road for about 9 miles, following signs for the campground.
